In the aerospace industry companies such as Boeing and Airbus sell aircrafts to many foreign countries, of which this countries are to required to comply with the maintenance standards and procedures written by the respective manufacturer.

Failure to effectively maintain these aircrafts can result in lost of lives as well as the reputation of the manufacturer as well as the airline.

As a result engineers have a responsibility to ensure that maintenance and procedures are clear and understandable to its global market, as well as ensure good two way communication between manufacturer and consumer.
